| so i've been visiting my brother in seattle since tuesday or so.. (after a 12 hrs drive up... NOT the most thrilling drive...)
any how.. we've done a variety of touristy things.. and i've been getting the gifford tour of seattle.
wednesday we saw the aurora bridge troll, went had tacos for lunch, headed to see the locks and the fish ladder, stopped by a yogurt place called mooberry which looks just like pinkberry on the outside, but ce fiore on the inside.. (the mango pineapple yogurt tasted like bread.. no joke.) walked around eating plain yogurt and strawberry yogurt (the plain was on the creamier sweet side.. strawberry was good though.. still not as good as yogurtland though) browsed a bookstore.. headed home with a detour to 1/2price bookstore in the university district.. where we went crazy and picked up 9 cds on clearance.. all for either a $1 or $2 each.. (4 for me, and 5 for him) after all this.. we were tired and hungry, so as we headed home, i picked up dinner from OK Corral.. southern bbq ribs.. yumyumyum.. luckily they are the apt complex's next door neighbor, so it was super close and not to mention sooooooooo good.. fall off the bone deliciousness! then just chillin at home watching the entire anime called flcl... it was madness.
thursday... started with chilling and then deciding on a nicer sit down lunch than the taco truck of the day before.. which lead us to eat at Ivar's Salmon House. we shared a salmon caesar salad and then a salmon entree. it was good. great view from the restaurant of the 5 freeway and the water.. after lunch, we dropped by his office area to check for coupons for the emp and just so i could see the building he works in, chit chatting with a few collegues...next we headed over to the emp exhibit (Experience Music Project).. stopping by the original Red Robin's. the emp was amazing! complete with an impressive timeline of the history of the development of guitars into electric guitars and more! the emp was also right next door to a scifi museum which had props from movies and tv shows and also a timeline of scifi, which was cool, but not quite as cool as the guitar timeline. or maybe it was cuz i was getting tired by that time... got a good view of the space needle by the emp .. since it's the same district and all.. for dinner we had i love sushi... ordered three rolls .. dragon roll, seattle roll, and paradise roll (spicy mayo sauce on the side). very good. i was happy with the fish.. though i thought the rice was a little too dense for my tastes.. i should yelp about this... it started to really rain around this time too! on our way home we decided to grab ice cream/gelato from this hole-in-the-wall place called the spotted cow.. two cities north of seattle. though after using gps on my phone, i discovered that there was a second branch just slightly closer than the one we had already decided to go to. no matter, i got my fill of ice cream by tasting all their home made ice creams like root beer, sweet cream, madagascar vanilla and more. we ended up taking home a pint of minty manure and a pint of cremesicle. the winners of the night. after dropping the ice cream off at home, we headed to the airport to pick up cole after which we were all pretty pooped.. it was a long day. heck this paragraph is practically twice as long as the wednesday one!
friday! we decided to mandate as the let's not spend money day.. which was a huge failure. we were supposed to have a simple lunch except that one of his colleagues had recommended we go to salumi's a salami deli that is only open from tues-fri and only for lunch and since it was friday.. this was my last chance to try it.. i had a dario sandwich.. regular salami with peppercorns in there, goh had a spicy salami sandwich.. i dont remember what it was called though. it was spicy. any how, we ate them at a japanese garden in the international district, very nice view and healthy plants. there we dropped by the Panama Hotel, which is part historical museum of things left behind by the japanese people who lived in the area around the time of WWII when they were forced to go to the japanese internment camps. very cool part of history. it's now a tea house, they serve teas and cakes, asian style. luckily we were parked on a hill because the blue angels were in town, so we got to see them flying around a little as we were getting ready to leave. we drove to west seattle to see a panoramic view of the skyline from the other side of the water or whatnot.. since it was beautifully sunny that day.. perfect for pictures.. on our way back we spontaneously stopped by pike's place market just to see the area.. visiting the first ever starbucks and just making a round thru the entire market, by then it was time to head home to consider what to cook for dinner. deciding on home made chinese food, we stopped by the local asian market (HT Market) grabbing a live tilapia fish, some char siu, snow peas, chicken and onions. after cooking and eating dinner, we (the two of us, plus goh's roommate nate and cole) decided on grabbing boba from pochi's on "the ave" which is actually university STREET...( ) and that was it for friday.
today. we are chilling. i've watched the entire first season of the flight of the conchords. it's been oddly, awkwardly funny. i believe today will be/has been the sucessful low budget kinda day, complete with an hour of webcaming with my sister, nate and emmett.
now i apologize for the long wordy post, but hey if you didn't read it thru, i didn't write this for you anyway. here come the pictures!

| i got my first root canal yesterday! eeks. no bueno. i was in pain all weekend and honestly could not sleep all that much. after the root canal, it feels kinda the same, but i'm hoping once my gums get used to the fact that there's something different, and it recovers from the whole process.. it'll hopefully get better.. sigh.
from our favorite..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_canal
Root canal procedure: unhealthy tooth, drilling, filing with endofile, rubber filling and crown

| my room is now void of all furniture, with the exception of an empty dresser that will be moved to my sister's very soon.
i'm sleeping on an aerobed and everything is packed away into boxes or garbage bags.
packing is madness.. esp when the weather picks up and turns hot. just lovely.
